If you are someone who is endeavoring to get better grades, there are a number of shortcuts that will help you to augment your capacity to sharpen your attentiveness, retain the information that you study, and recall it during an examination without suffering from mental blocks or a test phobia. These are the basics of how to institute good learning habits:

(1) Set aside an environment for learning and study only in that place! Locate a silent room that will facilitate concentration without distractions. Some potential examples would be a library, a vacant classroom, or your bedroom. You want to establish the behavior of studying when you are in this place. (a) Views of other activities that you will find distracting

(2) Divide your work into small, short-range components.

(a) Set up small precise projects like, "I am going to study my Algebra from 1 PM to 2 PM. Or else you will set yourself up to fall short.

(b) Set a accessible homework goal for the quantity of time you have allocated. For example: finish reading chapter fifteen in my Algebra text, or complete a final version of my English paper, etc. Set your goal when you you are ready to start studying but before you actually begin to study. Set reasonable goals. You might do more than reach your goal, but set a realistic goal even if it seems too easy.
