The Qualities of Good Leadership Skills
One of the best qualities of good leadership skills I find is staying focused on the end goal. Often we throw all these terms around about leadership like integrity, decision making, vision, communication, and so on which are all good leadership skills to have but we miss the primary reason for leadership.
Achieving the goal while not destroying people and things along the way! In fact the goal should be achieved while building up people and things along the way!
It’s very easy to write something like this article and sound really smart (maybe you wouldn’t agree) but my focus (goal) should be to help you truly understand why staying focused is so important. One of the best ways to do this besides working with you directly is to give you solid real life examples of how focus is one of the qualities of good leadership that needs to be placed high if not first on your list to accomplish.
Let’s take a look at someone that walked this earth about two thousand years ago and today is still one of the most loved, respected, or controversial individuals no matter whom you are or where you’re from.
That person is Jesus Christ! Many like me would call Him the Son of God, yet others would say that He is only a mortal man. Regardless of your position on who He is He stayed focused on His mission!
What was His mission? His mission was developed by His father, God Almighty, who stated that For He so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Now whether you believe this statement or not no one can dispute that Jesus Christ walked the earth some two thousand years ago and ultimately was nailed to a cross and hung until He died. I personally believe He rose on the third day, but we won’t even get into that.
The point I am trying to make here is that focus is one of the best and most important qualities of good leadership skills. If anyone was focused on His mission it was Jesus, even unto death!
While staying focused He also achieved many amazing things along His path toward that goal.
He took the time to feed huge groups of people even though they didn’t appear to have any means to do so! He could have easily kept the little food for themselves and sent them along their way without food, but He chose to feed them.
When He was approached many times along His path by those inflicted with everything from blindness to leprosy He took time to help them!
During all of this He never took time or sought out fame and fortune for himself! He continued to give credit where credit was due and that was to the person that sent Him, God Himself!
Speaking of great qualities of good leadership skills seeking glory for yourself is not one of them!
I would challenge you to find anyone else in human history that was a greater example of an amazing leader. I’ll bet you can’t
Thank you and May GOD Bless You!
