A Well Planned Employee Appreciation Program Can Help A Company Thrive!

Through a well planned employee appreciation program are able to acknowledge the hard work of diligent and dedicated employees which will have unlimited payoffs for a company. By recognizing the hard efforts of those that are committed to the success of the company you encourage others to step up their efforts. You also increase the amount of loyalty that the workforce has to offer the organization. The benefits of a well thought out employee appreciation program will extend way beyond these.

In what can be a regular repetition of events, employee enthusiasm can become stagnant. This is because there is the unspoken expectation to follow a set, daily standard. By encouraging others to excel beyond this standard, you can set the stage for both the growth of your employees and your business. When a company sets its goals higher than day to day maintenance and upkeep of a business, the standard becomes one of excellence.

Implementing a reward system that acknowledges efforts that rise beyond!

Each day should be an opportunity to bring innovative ideas on company growth and attaining new levels of success. Implementing a reward system that acknowledges efforts that rise beyond normal maintenance has proven to be a key motivator. The acknowledgement boosts employee morale and lets them know that efforts to achieve more than what is required do not go unnoticed.

Many companies have opted not to invest time in employee recognition programs. When improperly planned they can cause more problems than benefits provided. When biased or popularity based polls become the primary gauge for obtaining an award, worthy individuals can get overlooked. This often leads to company resentment and office turmoil. A reward system should be based upon standards that everyone can understand. The goal setting and achieving process should be measurable and every employee should have accessibility to the time and tools needed to excel.

No longer is the boss providing a special treat for extra effort !

Another issue that can arise with ill planned employee recognition programs is a developing expectation from employees to be rewarded. When the system of reward becomes too casual and too frequent, such as treating office staff to lunch for working longer hours, a sense of entitlement can develop.

No longer is the boss providing a special treat for extra effort. Instead, he is merely fulfilling what his staff feels entitled too. From this point, each time the staff is asked to work extra hours there can be the expectation that lunch will be provided at the expense of the company.

Implementing successful, fair employee appreciation programs can be time consuming. A strong system of reward will have its benefits when carefully brought into play. By acknowledging hard work, businesses will boost the vigor with which staff approaches each day, by introducing incentives for employee attainment of measurable goals.

Good Luck and May God Bless You!
