Best Leadership Books

There are a lot of leadership books on the market but one of the best leadership books I have read is in a while is "Monday Morning Leadership" by David Cottrell.

This is a very quick read that provides you with some really great ideas to apply to your everyday business life. Ideas that have meat to them.

This is exactly what the best leadership books should do. The book stores are full of every type and length of how to become a better leader! The truth is that becoming a better leader requires simple, not complex, changes to your style. In some cases you either have it or you don't!

The mentor does not let them off the hook, but forces the student to come up with the answer.

The "Monday Morning Leadership" book takes you through eight mentoring sessions with a young manager that makes you feel like you're almost at the meetings with them. They are simple conversations that generate some real thought on how to approach various situations. The mentor in this book just presents some basic questions that demand that the student must think about. The mentor does not let them off the hook, but forces the student to come up with the answer. This is real learning at it's best. That is why I feel this is one of the best leadership books!

I can absolutely relate to this since I am also a mentor, and have been to a number of individuals. Mentoring is different than teaching. Teaching your presenting information to a student and asking them to learn from that information. Mentoring on the other hand is helping the person realize the answers through a series of questions. Most times it is asking why or presenting them with some real life applications that generate thought.

The "Monday Morning Leadership" book gave me great insight and new ideas on how to approach being a mentor as well as being mentored by someone else. Sometimes the answers to some of the most complex problems (or at least we think they are complex) lie right in front of our face. The old "I can't see the forest because of the trees syndrome!" The best leadership books help you see the forest and trees!

It is a quick and easy read that is packed with information you can put to use immediately.

This books ability to hit the nail right on the head and help "Jeff', the character in the book, solve many problems on his own was amazing.

You will not go wrong and this is absolutely one of the best books out there. Short and to the point! Now I am not saying this it will be the last leadership book you will ever need but it certainly is a very good book!

It is a quick and easy read that is packed with information you can put to use immediately. This is what makes it one of the best leadership books. I recommend you read it first quickly and then go back again and pick up some other pieces of information you missed the first time.

Thank You and May God Bless you!
