Articles on Sexual Harassment – Behind Closed Doors
I wished it wasn't so but I unfortunately can share several Articles on Sexual Harassment in the workplace.
A number of years ago I was the Human Resources Director for a large hotel. This of course was a great job, but along with it came the problem of having so many rooms, i.e., places for employees to slip away and hide, or who knows what during working hours.
Generally when we talk about Sexual Harassment we think of a male harassing a female. But here is a case where the tables were turned.
The situation was abruptly discovered by a housekeeper opening a room to clean it, when they witnessed a female having relations with a male on the bed.
Articles on Sexual Harassment She screamed and slammed the door!
The housekeeper then noticed that the female was their supervisor and the male was a fellow housekeeper.
The female housekeeper that discovered them screamed and then slammed the door shut.
Needless to say the issue arrived on my desk shortly after.
Both the female housekeeping supervisor and the male housekeeper were married to different individuals.
The male housekeeper was a new employee that had been there only a few weeks.
Articles on Sexual Harassment She went into great detail...
After questioning the female housekeeping supervisor she stated that the male had forced her to have sex when she was instructing him how to clean the room. She went into great detail about the incident, even to say that the male threatened her with physical harm.
After questioning the male he stated that the supervisor had been making sexual advances on him since he was hired. He kept telling her that he was happily married. He told us that he had four children and he could not afford to leave voluntarily or get fired. He told us that she threatened him with his job if he didn't have relations with her in the room that day. Although he hated the idea of it he went ahead with it to protect his job.
We questioned the housekeeper that discovered them and she told us what she saw when she opened the door. She told us that the female was clearly he aggressor by the location that she had on the male.
That when she first opened the door the supervisor yelled at her to close the door trying to hide her face.
After questioning a few others we discovered that the female supervisor had told her Assistant that she would be gone for about an hour or so doing some personal errands. That in fact she was not training the new housekeeper.
After questioning a few other male housekeepers we also discovered that she had been making advances on some of them also.
Do your due diligence before every jumping to conclusions.
