Being the Leader of your Home

Defiant Child Behavior problems

Being the leader of your home will be the most important thing you will ever do for your family!

It may well be one of the most difficult also!

Why?

Because it can't be purchased! It can't be delegated to someone else! It takes an investment of self! It takes time, love, wisdom, knowledge, and humility!

You must be willing to put them before anything and everything else except for God.

My order of priorities in my life are God, Family, Country, and Career. This is coming from someone that spent 12 years in the United States Marine Corps!

If I get those mixed up and place one in front of the other I potentially risk losing them all.

That is not to say that all are not extremely important to me, because they are. But in order of importance they must follow that path for me to be a leader, whether in the home or in my business.

My wife and I are the proud parents of four wonderful kids that we would like to beat and hang out to dry once in a while. Well maybe once or twice a day. Not really of course, but kids can drive you absolutely crazy.

Quality Time – Hog Wash!

Now lets talk about how much time it takes to be the leader of your home.

I have heard so many people tell me that they are not able to spend a lot of time at home because of their career, but the time they spend is always quality time. They follow up the ridiculous statement about it by saying that it isn't about how much time you spend it is what you do with that time. Hog Wash!

After all if you don’t spend enough time with them you are going to miss the little things that come from natural conversations. Not sit down and let’s talk for 25 minutes, then we can, and then we can play catch for another 12 minutes. By that time it should be dinner. Remember my favorite show is on tonight so we need to hurry.

Ya, that’s quality time alright. That’s selfish time is what that is.

Hang out with you children. Mine drive me crazy like I said earlier but I still do my best to spend as much time with them as possible. I feel uncomfortable if they are not around.

Yes they are out of control at times and there are many ways to deal with that such as The Total Transformation® program. By the way this is an incredible program.

I recently got to spend time with my daughter when we traveled to the State Softball Finals. (By the way if you want to read more about that go to my blog Playing Softball. We had a great time and by the way she came in third place and won defensive player of the year for her team. I was so proud. The team was a sophomore team playing in a junior varsity event.

Point is that you need to spend time with them. Don’t miss out. Don’t avoid them. They are smarter than you think. Rearrange your schedule to do your personal things at a different time.

Thanks again and May God Bless You!
